Becoming Witch

Becoming Witch is a lecture performance proposing a radical rethinking of how dance is made and who is making it. Out of the ashes of a burnt-out public discourse around female choreographers, Becoming Witch riffs off the question "Where are the women?", unearthing the nomadic, coven-like ways that dance artists produce, create and survive together.  

 

Written and performed for the Masters of Research in Choreography and Performance at Roehampton University, 2014, Becoming Witch was also performed at Visionale, Chisenhale Dance Space, a mini-festival of lecture performances curated by Flora Wellesley Wesley.
